Baffling Immaturity

After much thought, I cannot recall having known another 42-year-old man who so thrives on drama, nearly unmatched by even a woman. Both self-induced drama and feeding into and off of any surrounding drama. I feel intensely uncomfortable when I am inadvertently involved in the drama, or a witness to it. More than that, not being a fan of drama-for-the-sake-of-it, I tend to go inward and away from the person(s) responsible. If only it were as black and white in this case, but it isn’t. I’ve been friends with this man for nine years. How does maturity productively meet with baffling immaturity? It seems impossible to meet on common ground. I will not stoop.
